Pinched this out of my grandmas cupboard, because it is nice and heavy, but I don't know what it is or if it's good to use. Is it meant to be a steel finish on the inside, or maybe it was teflon?

My grandma is terrible at cleaning, so I've given a scrub. The inside-sides were patchy black like the base, but came off real easy with the scourer. The inside-bottom is stuck on there good however. The outside-sides were also covered in crap, but they scrubbed off ok.

Yer could be a dutch oven. It would be a particularly shallow one though. The base seems to be aluminium for spreading heat more evenly, which would be good. I guess I'll have to just get the heavy duty chemicals on it like supasaiyan suggests, and then cook something.

...Or not. Just re-season it, like a cast iron skillet.

Looks like remnants of a coating inside. Bin it.

Looks solid so I can imagine why you would want to keep it. Looks to me like it's beyond it's days a bit.
