    Hi guys,

Love my Galaxy Note 3 but it's having a couple issues after a long life so it's time to look at upgrading I think.

Was just going to get a Note 5 but thought I'd get some feedback here first to see if there are any other Androids I should consider?

I really only use it for calls, messages, emails, Snapchat, Facebook and photos. No games or anything fancy.

    Cheers

I had the same issue. Went to a Note 4. Not the latest and greatest but it works well.

I consider the Note 5 to be one of the great phones, just as long as u don't care about no sd card slot.

You've got the best screen, decent SW these days, awesome screen to weight ratio, and the very handy S pen, plus 2 methods of fast charging, and it looks pretty good.

Camera and video are also some of the best.

If that's all you do, no point getting Note 5. I'd consider the Nexus 6P mainly for a few things:

    1. It's a Nexus and it'll be updated promptly
    2. Cheaper than Note 5
    3. Decent battery life
    4. Good performance

Although I'm not a fan of Huawei, at least I know it's a Nexus and will be updated in 2-3 years time, unlike Samsung...

I made the move from a Note 3 to 4, and there is really no worth while need to.

Won't bother with the 5, am sitting around to see if something tickles my fancy one day, I won't be going on plan for the first time too, so anytime someone wants to release something worth it....

Don't play any games other than Clash of Clans.

Considered a fresh battery and a full wipe+reset? Usually does wonders.

^ This. Brother was complaining about his Note 3 getting old, slow and unreliable. He wiped it and started again, and he's loving it.

Im looking for something myself as my note3 is getting a bit long in the tooth and ive been off contract since begining of October

The Sony Xperia Z5 premium looks the only real candidate but its not offered on any carrier post paid plans ;(

I use mine at least 5 hrs a day as I commute more than 4 hrs a day. roughly 5.7 inch screen and removable SD is what I need. I also would like a decent camera. Note 5 would have been good apart from the SD card

I suppose we are just waiting...

I use a Z ultra. 6.4" screen is a bit massive but the software is less intrusive than the note 3 my wife has.

I'd consider looking at a Z5 or the Z5 compact if the size is an issue.

Thanks guys - my Note 3 is actually perfect still, aside from a couple software issues which I can fix if I put my mind to it. I just thought it would be a good opportunity to upgrade, but I'd have to spend the same amount of time getting a new custom ROM etc so I might just fix this phone :)

    Thanks for your opinions.
