Thought i'd ask this question because of the recent news/rumours about the possibility of Intel removing the ability to overclock it's next mid-range processors. More discussion on that here

So, simple task, just check which type of CPU/s you overclock :)

Also, please don't take offence if your particular CPU was placed in a lower slot than you wish. Was not out to offend people. Just based them purely on price.

    Cheers!

how is an E6600 mid range?

you should really group by market sector, ie group ALL E and Q 6 and 8's together, as they are within the same market.

E6400 - bought it well over a year ago in favour of the cheaper E6200 because I couldn't bring mysef to buy a new processer that was clocked (by default) under 2GHz :p

    Good point.

Although most ppl these days use Intel CPU, there are still a few running AMD.

I move this thread to the general hardware forum. ;)

In regard to new cpu technology, i'm using intel processors...but when AMD allow higher clocks on their Phenom quad i'm keen testing them out.

    :tired:

Guys, the reason they were even grouped in ranges is so i didn't have to have 50 options listing every freakin CPU on the market. Don't read into it too much. Just vote :)

I originally intended on only using Intel CPU's then i thought i'd add AMD's in there too :) Thanks for the move Chainbolt
