    vegemite = win..
thick or thin (depends on mood at the time), bread or toast, it makes a great partner to a thick spread of butter on bread or cooled toast..
2-4mm butter, vegemite, 5mm thick slice of cheese on cool toast or bread = meal :D

The Vitamin B group (that they destroy then add back in the manufacturing process) comes from the brewer's yeast which is Vegemite's main ingredient.

Aussies love Vegemite so much (and the poms their Marmite) because the more of it they eat, the more beer will be brewed to produce it. ;)

    Mmmmmm, vegemite.

I love the stuff. I think i might undertake a dare to eat an entire 285 (or whatever it is) mL tub of the stuff with jsut a spoon.

    That'd be fun.

edit: after tasting it raw, i am quite certain i could ENJOY a 285 (or whatever) mL tub of it. straight.

    edit #2:
acutally, that poses to me a great question...

When I was a kid I did eat it by the spoonful.

Still love my vegemite but use regular serving sizes and methods now.

Haha vegemite is tops. Love it. Along with my thongs, mexican party hat and cold chisel dvd.

I was hanging out with some chicks from scotland on the weekend and when I asked them if they liked vegemite, I was met with a "eww YUCK". :D

As it turns out they also did not find cordial enjoyable either.

Did I phrase badly? Brewers' yeast has tons of vitamin B in it. Kraft buy the slurry in bulk from breweries, cook it (or process it with some secret patented method) which destroys the Vitamin B. They then add some Vitamin B (niacin, thiamine etc) back at the end of the process.

Most foods that are vitamin fortified in Australia are only allowed to have as much vitamins added as were removed by the production process (eg vitamin additives in breakfast cereals etc).

I've tried and tried and I still can't eat vegemite :( It reminds me too much of the Marmite that made me spew when I was 6.

    What's wrong with Vegemite?

Well it looks like something that someone scooped out of the bottom of a Council Bus's sump. Other than that, it's excellent.

It puts a rose in every cheek (and a nail in every coffin).

Vegemite and honey is actually quite nice..... Did it by accident once (2 pieces of toast, one with vegemite, one with honey, *fell* on top of each other and me being ur average 13 yr old at the time decided to eat it anyway!)... I love it! It's kinda sweet n sour.....
