You really want at least one crt for testing purposes, I had a Compaq 486 and would get no signal on my dell 24" unless I used the crt, think commander keen 1 is a good old classic for testing vga signals into a monitor, DVI your sweet as but not vga.

Aren't 9700's like 30 bucks? Had a 9500 pro back in the day when I couldn't afford a 9700.. came with this game called black hawk down.. was freaking amazing..

Let me know if you've got one for sale, been looking for a circa 2002 video card of that ilk. :)

Hmm I think the 9700's and 9800pro cards I've got are Mac ones.. :(

I'll keep an eye out, but yeah looks like they've got up.. a lot.. bought 2 9700 for 40us posted last year or the year before.. if you can manage with a Mac 9800, your more than welcome to it.

AGP cards definitely going up of late... As with everything I suppose.

Might be a good time to grab a couple of the classics - more entry level cards are still cheap, even on eBay.

Absolutely. What's getting even harder to find is the older beige 4:3 LCD's. While they often don't have the best of screens compared to later LCD's, you just can't beat the beige look which blends in nicely with a similar coloured cases.

I have my modern machine on the dvi and the 486/286 on the vga, work just fine. :) Just need to change the input by pressing the bottom button on the side.

Oh come on!, Mrs BiggusDickus ("if indeed that is your real name.."). Elvis's wife would've already bought it for him and been to pick it up by now. :leet: Get with the program!

Just plant the seeds of an idea to get some expensive shoes/bag/clothes and when it appears you'll be set for a couple of years to bring whatever crap home you wanted.

Ok, I've succumbed to peer pressure and thrown the guy an offer for his TV, monitors and box of PC gear.

If I take the VCRs and other rubbish I'll be in real trouble.

I found this other ad on Facebook last night...

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2383662601932912

I thought I spied a few ISA video and sound cards so sent the guy a quick message. However, he was being really inflexible around pick-up times basically trying to get the cash from me ASAP. To make matters worse he can't seem to write legible messages so I was struggling to understand what he was saying. I gave up on him but now he is messaging me today saying he is available for me to visit. Not sure I'm brave enough to meet the guy to be honest, I'm starting to think he could be a meth addict trying to raise cash for his next hit.

If you want a quick laugh you should check out his other ads for "Rhams" and "Pc sert up dicks"

<clicks link> Ah yes, the first slightly concerning clue is the good old, take a photo of the item by holding it down on your crotch and pointing the camera down at it...
