Yeah I got two of the STB later model cards, don’t remember the price but they were dirt cheap weren’t they?

Í can't seem to login to AliExpress. After I enter my credentials I just get an error message in chinese language. Anyone else having problems?

I'm not game enough to use the Google or Facebook integration.

bYrd I paid $US84 with freight on the 22/10/17

Also i just ordered one of the ali ones, I think with 3rd party drivers it will sli with the STB card. I regretted not getting two when i ordered the STB, i was rocking sli in the late 90's so i'd like to rebuild something much the same as i had back then.... Now to find out what to do about a sli cable...

I'm tempted to grab one (or two), but for some reason my spidy sense is tingling every time I go back to make the purchase. FOMO may get the better of me, but I do already have three Voodoo II's, albeit only 8MB cards.

Zero feeback on ebay doesn't scare me off, but I wouldn't send money to a zero feedback aliexpress seller. I will be surprised if you guys get anything.

Yep, and the assumption that you'll be able to to a charge back (which isn't instant and far from guaranteed to be approved by your bank). Looks dodgy is dodgy.

Seller has jacked the price up after I questioned him about some Creative Voodoo 2's he has listed. Asked him if he would do the same price (it said on the listing to make an offer) and it seems that was his response. Hmmmm.

Strangely he's actually jacked the price higher than the Creative's by a fair bit (about $30) so I have no idea what's up with the pricing.

It seems like it was not meant to be. Now to start the process to get a refund.

I'd love a Voodoo5 5500, but i've just spent most of my disposable income for the time being on next gen gear...At least I don't really have a nostalgic connection with a voodoo 5 unlike the 2!

My thought about the Voodoo 5 card ---- screw the voodoo 5 cards.

Not paying near current gen prices for a video card that was objectively terrible in the days it was sold, with the interest being shown in it simply because 3dfx went broke selling terrible cards, and maybe the odd Glide only game that doesn't run well on a voodoo 3.

I'd rather keep the $500 myself, and use dgvoodoo if I ever find a game that the voodoo 3's glide system can't do.

I think they would only be worth this much to a collector. For someone wanting to play some games an ATI or Nvidia card would be the preferred option IMHO.

I do have a soft spot for the earlier 3dfx models which also make great DOS cards.

I suppose you can justify anything but the way I look at it.....

A Voodoo 5500 is a flawed classic but your not going to loose money on one, AGP is "older" as in the phase out perhaps pci version is a better investment to work on newer boards, pci Mac edition to be precise.

Funny the aversion to spending money on older RARE hardware but people scrambling over themselves willing to knowingly overpay on the latest and greatest.

Look at those 2080TIs basically you could've flushed $1,000 down the drain if you bought one a few months ago and others paying $300-$400+ over retail for the new 3080.

Obviously you need to have the money in the first place and a geforce 2/4MX for $20 or $30 is probably a better card, at least it won't be a costly mistake if you do buy a 5500 on impulse.

the voodoo 5500 in its day is basically the same as the 3080, 3090 is now but coz its old people forget just how good it was, the best in its day, same as many of the old cards were
