Now, I really shouldn't have sent your purchase yet after reading this. In the next week or so I could potentially have a Ti4200 128mb 8X AGP w/ Thermaltake Copper cooler for sale..?

The downside of these ones for retro purposes is the lack of FM and DOS support. Thanks to the thread below I know that there used to be a nice little range of DOS compatible cards, but they're crazy rare now:

In the next thread, hard1k flagged his intention to design a new one. It didn't seem to go anywhere, but yyzkevin looks to be running with it. His ambitious plan is to include FM, gameport, intelligent MPU-401 and onboard wavetable. He's demonstrated a working prototype too, for the SB component at least.

The mouse might be hard to get in a condition you know before buying but for the kb there is still NOS on ebay at reasonableish prices. Like https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223680348784 is Azerty but you can pretty easily mod it to Qwerty https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12053&start=10 and switch the keys around.

You do? ooo. I have to keep an eye out for that :D Been looking for one for a lil while now.

hmm didnt notice that. shame, cause the rest of the card looked good.

Damn that looks sexy especially with that cooler.

Is the motherboard mounted horizontally in that case or is that an extender?

Woot, $300 of exploding tantalums .... I would be "really" careful turning this one back on.

But would be a really fun restore for someone.

I've been admiring and watching this guy's projects for months, particularly the replacement TFT for the IBM PC110 mini laptop. Brilliant ideas, but he is yet to release a thing - I'll keep waiting patiently.

On topic, not that cheap, but if you wanted the best BX motherboard ever made, this ASUS P3B-F board is it.

When the price is "$123.45", and make an offer is enabled, I wonder if the seller has any actual price expectations in mind.

I always say for anyone looking to buy an IBM of that era that you might as well just do a blanket replacement of the tantalums and the line filtering cap in the PSU because you can almost guarentee they are going to blow.

I brought a complete 5150 which I've since moved on and a 5160 about 5 years ago and ended up having to replace the PSU line filtering caps, tantalum caps on the motherboard (had a couple blow so decided to just replace the lot while I was at it) and a couple of tantalum caps on the Tandon floppy drives. Oh and I almost forgot there was also a line filtering cap on the IBM CGA adapter in the 5160 that went as well. Like I said, might as well do a blanket replacement. :)

    I reckon he'd take $98.76 for it.
