Worth the double post  A pile of Tandy and Amstrad on the NSW mid north coast for $10. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/526087325751008

I've chatted with him, and let him know they're worth a little more than this. He's not fussed - he just wants them to go to a good home.

holy moly i remember watching Craig Charles in Robot Wars excited to build my own since they advertised those magazines to kids, what they didn't tell ya itad take a boatload of issues to have all the parts needed lol we got about 15issues in and my father couldn't figure out how to build em let alone kid me haha. can't imagine the money those generated back then.
damn why is all the good stuff in NSW D:

if anyone picks up the Microbee or the other systems ill buy/trade for em,
understandable if ya don't wanna ship CRTs i have a Zenith 100 pc tube utterly destroyed in transit :( ital be a long time before i can find a compatible tube replacement

I've come across those Robot magazine sets quite a few times - they were never complete! Last time was at the Thornbury "Helping Hands" op shop early 2022, a couple dozen magazines and parts it all looked like shit. I think they were popular, think of the poor bastards spending thousands being trickle fed parts - expecting a mechanical beast that would amputate someone's leg with a circular saw - and never reaching completion.

yeah all it did was move along lines you lay out for it then randomly change direction if it bumps into stuff like a roomba lol. man apparently there's 5 phases up to 96issues!
i still have our old copies somewhere in the garage if someone wants em for cost of post might take awhile to dig em out though.

From those comments: "This system requires the NiCd battery to be working and supplying power to the logic board. The machine won't power on just with the AC adapter. The batteries need to be removed or replaced"

So the seller saying it won't boot because of the PSU may be chasing a red herring.

Not particularly cheap but here's a handsome ISA sound card based on the Crystal cs4237b chipset, which has a decent OPL3 clone in it and is fantastic in all other regards, and a cheeky little cs9236 chip onboard for general midi. It's a super budget midi option that chip but sounds OK I reckon.

    Not a bad all-in-one card.
