Bertini tuna chunks in oil with chilli is the best I've tasted.

Be warned, its reasonably hot for a canned tuna, but I love it :)

its a midrange (price wise) line that you see in continental delis.

    I've never tried it.

Low brands @ major super markets are horrible. I once tried home brand tuna, my god... needless to say that went straight in the bin.

I find most brands stocked by coles and woolies too expensive for what you get and not all that great. I personally stock up on 'portview' tuna which is an aldi brand. 425g tins for $1.98. Mix it up with seseme oil/salt/pepper/chilli/whatever else and its a tasty snack not to mention reasonably good for you and cheap. From my experiences it has been quite good with no bad batches and a clean flavour and have not had any 'brand' name tuna that was noticably better even though they cost 2.5x the price.

Agreed! The Aldi Portview in springwater is my favourite. Mix it with a bit of finely chopped onion, teaspoon of mayo and have it on a salad sandwich, it's great for a work lunch.

Used to only buy GreenSeas and Sirena but now I save money and it tastes the same to my boring palate!

Well after that sandwich I'm now well and truly a convert to Bertini with chilli.

For those of you who voted Sirena with chilli as the best canned tuna, do yourself a favour and try this winning combination. :)

    Time for a resurrection.

My favourite tasting tuna has always been John West Mild Indian Curry flavour, and Mango chilli.

However i had a can of Sirena & sweet chilli today and it was very very good.
Although i'm skimping on flavour and trying something a little better in terms of how its caught, and i purchased Fish 4 Ever canned tuna, hopefully it's good, it was rated number 1 on greenpeace 2011 charts... I'm not one to really care that much normally, i just buy whatever tuna i figure is on the best deal but i figured i might aswell and see how this stuff is.

Whatever you do, dont bother with costco, it think somewhere along the lines they replaced the tuna with sponges that may or may not have came in contact with fish. Horribly dry, flavourless, chewy rubbish.

Dissapointing as most of the "kirkland" branded products are great, alas though, the tuna is garbage. Will have to hunt down some of the Bertini for a sample, but sirena does just fine for me.

I shop mostly at Coles and buy home brand.

425g Tuna Chunks in Olive Oil, $2.05
    415g Pink Salmon, $2.60

    Can't beat those prices.

I like the Coles Tuna. Mexican and Tomato & Chilli are the best two. 5 for $4

I used to love Sirena the most but they use purse nets and catch yellowfin tuna so I've switched over to Safcol now who use pole & line and is mostly made of skipjack tuna.

Used to eat John West/Greenseas, whichever one was on sale.

After trying a can of Sirena, thats all I've been having recently.
