  2. Change to the Nokia E71?

    60.9%
  3. Change to other phone (please post which...)?

    13.0%
  4. Something else?

I have been using win mobile for a few years.

First imate Jamin and now the HTC Tytn2.

as a PDA, it's a great device. BUT as a phone, it's just horrible.

The touchscreen sucks, the interface is even worse (I have tried many, including touchflow/3d, etc...) the speaker phone is horrible and battery life is bad as well...

But I love it as a PDA, I organize all my meetings, read emails, use TomTom as GPS, and also a little bit of gaming...

I'm thinking to change to the Nokia E71, but I'm not sure if it covers all what I need.

I need a phone that would be good with meetings, Gps, Phone, Games, an acceptable battery life.

    What should I do?

Stay with the TyTn2 until a new specific phone arrives?

    Thanks all!!!

    ps - I don't want a blackberry.

how important is battery life? If you want anything that lasts longer than 1.5 days per charge, then you wouldn't be looking at any touch screen windows mobile.

I'm quite happy with my Tytn2, I don't have any issues with the touchscreen and as a phone its fine.

I would wait till the 2009 line of HTC's is officially announced before making um my mind.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I don't want touch screen. I hate having too look at the screen to be able to call a number.

ANYTHING you do on a phone with a touchscreen, you need to look at it, and I'm so used to 'blindly' use a phone...

I would say the E71 covers all those bases. And quite reliably too. It's main weakness is its handling of emails (IMO). But I haven't tried any thrid party apps yet.

If you want WinMo I'd highly recommend the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1a. I've set one of the hardware keys on mine to be a start button and now I rarely use the touchscreen unless I feel like it.

For Symbian I'd say the E73.

I think he's referring to the upcoming N97, but that's still a few months away...

I have a E71, and after coming from the original E61 and E61i, I must say I am very impressed by the overall speed increase on this revision.

Most of my usage is playing music through bluetooth, with a webpage open in the browser, emails and msn connected in the background, all simultaneously, and I barely notice any slowdowns.

Battery life of 1-2 days depending on how much I play music/watch videos, which is excellent for a mobile with all those functionality!

    Highly Recommended! :)

Hey, check it out everybody, Bogus Jimmy is contributing

Apparently the e71 is getting lots of praise, at least go to a store and try one... meh. That would be my pick of your choices as I am toying with getting one myself, just a tad pricey for me but I might commit :D

I was a winmo user for years and took the switch to an e71.
great phone, s60 is pretty good.

It's calendaring is nowhere near as good as winmo
e71 is an awesome build of phone, great kb and best form factor phone I have ever used.
    battery life is good.

e71 email implementation is shit compared to winmo implementation
the native SIP client in the e71 is near unusable compared to other native clients I have used in windows phones

aprt from that I'm pretty happy...saying that I will be moving on the e71 as soon as I have some more $$ as the email and sip are just as if not more so important than regular calling for me
