That is actually a damn good price for a starter. Def an intro to VR buy.
But if you have any $$ and want the best i've been there done that, i urge splurge. 110 FOV is so crap i gave my rift away free when i got the index. Wasn't worth a cent.
I think FOV beats everything else at this stage in the game.

Well. The Index is 5x the cost of the current Odyssey+ and probably more than that for a 2nd hand Rift. Sometimes you gotta pick your battles :D

I agree with this, especially if you don't know how different the other headsets are.

I can barely stand the low resolution and FoV headsets that are currently sold, its either Index or Pimax.

The lower end headsets are fine as long as it doesn't turn VR into a bad experience for someone who has never used VR before.

also its a bit disingenuineous when this is the 5th highest res vr set on the market and only a year old

snobs gonna snob but for 1/5th of the competitions price (8k x and index in aud) its a good buy
i can top frag in pavlov if i really try but i just dick around and coming from a low fov background 4:3 and 16:10 it matters not what matters is response times

I do like that graph ^, wish it had index but i have the idea anyway where it sits 2880×1600 total res..
Good to see it so visual.

Yeah the cheaper ones are awesome bang for buck now days, considering i paid $850 for the Rift few years back, i was only mentioning once you try the higher quality ones you'll regret buying below them. If you don't know, best never to try.

i actually had 2k put aside for a index and pimax 8k x but i heard about the unreliable knuckles and other shit on them breaking so had i imported one i valve wouldnt have been able to help me in any way.
Besides they are in such low volume ill just get them when they are a bit more widespread hopefully cheaper revisions with the issues fixed

Worst thing about WMR isnt the controllers themselves its the tracking but it only really trips up during extreme shit.
It doesnt make stuff like Pavlov or boneworks unplayable but you can mix controllers thankfully so when i run across a cheap set of lighthouses + knuckles ill get them

Isn't there some other awesome 5k ish priced amazing headsets around with like 200FOV or whatever.
Weird why that one is so expensive for res that Pimax already does and a small FOV. What's the refresh?
