As per thread title?
What is it doing, can I turn it off? It is particuarlly annoying....
zOMG phone make and model or help = 0
Cmon, hows your memory?
Sory, didnt include Make/Model as it happesn on my sistas fone, and someone once explained why, and it also happens on my phone. (We forget why it was explained though)
In general, alot of phones are light sensors. Then they light up the screen if their isnt enough of in the surrounding so there will be little viewing problems.
Mine doesn't light up randomly but it lights up when it auto locks, thats annoying
my bros and my mums phones light stays on full when the charging there samsungs
Hm, no, the phone will just be sitting on my desk, not being touched for ages and it will randomly light up for a second and go back dark...
The explnation given (that im not happy with), is that it irs updating the cell info display...
i have a 6120c and i think it lights up after a timeout when it goes into screensaver mode...maybe its autolocking at a point...something like that
It lights up when finished charging or low battery usually
oh knoes! battery = low! light up to full power, play a max volume alarm, and turn on bluetooth to alert any devices nearby, make a data connection to home server, and fire up wifi just to be sure!!!
I know my phone (LG u880) lights up with alarms. Even if I've set an alarm, and then deleted it, it will still light up. It normally only happens once per alarm, but i normally only set "today only" alarms, not "each day of the week" alarms.
sometimes you can just go to the setting, and change the backlight setting, that might help the randomnese
you may not be happy with it, but it's correct
I guess it lights up whenever something changes on screen, just in case at that precise moment you are in a dark room looking at your phone. I guess this makes sense as to why it would light up when changing cell towers.
Haven't noticed mine light up randomly. Nokia 6300
My Nokia E61 lights up at random. It seems to happen when it drops or establishes connections. Never been quite sure why it does it. Very annoying it is.
My 6085 lights up randomly too, for no apparent reason. I just thought it was a glitch of some sort
Most Nokia and Motorola phones light up when the Cell Info Display (i.e. the text that shows that suburb/locations phone cell you're on) changes, since most mobiles like to jump around between local cells, this usually causes the stupid backlight to turn on and off all night.
It does this because the location text is sent as a info service, and the phone lights up just as if it received a normal push message.
Disable Info service/cell info display reception in messaging config to stop it.
My Nokia 8800 will light up briefly when it has dropped a 'bar' of battery.
My 6021 does this too. When the phone isn't in use it just shows the time on a grey background with icons for silent mode, missed calls and messages. Sometimes it lights up without this changing. No incoming messages, doesn't go to the main wallpaper screen or anything.
I have cell info display disabled too so it's never shown up. I call it's just crappy Nokia software. /me pines for his Sony Ericsson again.
