Why would you even want to? There's 100 Linux servers powering the cloud for every human being on Earth, and mobile has eclipsed the desktop (something Microsoft failed to capitalise on early, but are finally fixing now, albeit not as a market leader or definer).

See my comments above - Windows is even worthless as paid commodity. It's entire value exists as a branded portal to the cloud. *Maybe* there's some value in supporting legacy companies that don't know how to migrate to modern "zero trust" environments, but that's a limited and dwindling number compared to far more mobile startups.

The traditional desktop is a vestige of the previous millennium. Anyone banking on it as a future majority revenue stream is dead meat, and that goes for any OS/nerd-religion. Not only is this blatantly obvious, it's not new. Microsoft have not ever had Windows as a majority revenue stream. Office, and now the cloud (including O365) have always been their cash cows. And I can happily use those services from anything, including an Android phone or Linux desktop.

I've picked up two enormous media clients in the last 3 months. "Desktop" is a dirty word to them. Mobile is all they care about. This is the new normal.

Every second edition of windows would be the one to get. Windows ME was a steaming pile of hot camel turd.

Does that mean iPads over MacBooks, or MacBooks over Mac Pros?

You can polish the turd all you want but at the end of the day, it's still a turd.

    Fuck that UI is terrible.

I hate ios dock, they will revert it back. They tried to ditch a usable start menu in SVR 2012 before it was restored in R2. I suspect the UI will change

Microsoft's UI's have been woeful for years now. Vista may have been a pos but at least it was pretty, at least in my opinion.

Thank fuck the live tiles are gone. I'd be a happy man if Microsoft could just focusing on making the user experience a bit less infuriating and a bit more logical.

It won't necessarily happen directly, they will just make the OS a shell around a bunch of subscription based cloud services and make integration mandatory.

How about Windows 2077? Release it way too early and patch all those serious bugs a year later:lol:
