Appreciate what you're saying completely in regards to a Microsoft driven workplace. As for little experience, I have been using Linux for the last 25 years from server perspective (since RedHat 4 - not RHEL4); and at home I have been using misc desktop releases for personal use in most situations. As for the use case - I am not trying to shoe-horn it in the business (that'll never happen given my employer) - I dont use my work laptop at home as it's too locked down and restrictive to do things usefully (I'm dreading being forced to go back to the office and use it). This is for my home PC - I was hoping to use Linux to perform work functions; however that seems out of reach. I am more than comfortable using it for anything that I use for 'home' use.
