That is a quality issue and requires better QA.

Does anyone know the feature or regedit key to change the font used on the Windows 11 Settings app itself? Getting tired of Segue... want to change to Fixedsys/DOS. I've made 1 change, but it's only affected text and options inside of Windows Explorer.

Basically I want to change this font face.

To this, that I have so far been able to achieve.

Search regedit for segue. Look for uuids
Then search for all the uuid.

    Best I can think of.

dont bother changing stuff in the registry, windows will revert it sooner or later, in a command prompt (cause explorer will make this a pain), navigate to the C:\windows\fonts\ and find the font, rename them all to old segoe.old (should be like 8 to 10 of them, you technically only need to change the ones with UI in them, create a copy of the desired font you want, and rename it to segoe**.xxx (** being the italic or ui/bold versions and xxx being the font extenstion ttc/ttf), reboot and enjoy until windows update does a "health" scan and reverts your changes :p

Don't do x because windows will undo it.
Do Y and windows will still undo it.

    Mmm
    Wise this one is.

It's almost as if we can create .reg files so we can instantly restore our change, if this ever happens.
Changing regedit data is not hard. What's hard is identifying what does what and where to find it.

The windows health scan initiated by windows update or by the task scheduler; doesn't cover the fonts folder, but covers all the "windows" registry entry's in the hive.

    Windows registry 101

million ways to skin a cat.

you have options, go with whatever tickles your fancy at the time :)

Didn't want to start a new thread for this query...

but on my work laptop, i have heaps of favourites stored over the years. Is there a way to see if the links are still valid (besides opening them 1x1)??

Done and removed from Chrome anyway, but I didn't read the reviews... probably should have.

Nothing *seems* to have stayed behind. Will have to have a dig.

My Windows 11 experience so far

Probably the easiest install process for windows ever, minus the nags for Microsoft account bollocks, sorted with Rufus
New right click menu went in the bin straight away, full context menu thx, easy regedit fix
Efficiency mode performance dramas, sorted out with Process Lasso (create a rule, basically globally disabling efficiency mode with a blanket rule). Don't care for unnecessary energy saving measures on a desktop
Hibernation file was taking up like 60GB of space, so 'powercfg -h off' comes in handy once again.
All the usual tweaks, disable all the 'apps' (they're not real programs and you'll never convince me otherwise), game bar, and crap
No option to always show ALL system tray icons is very strange, but enabling them all one by one works but is a bandaid.
Randomly switched from external wifi adapter to built in motherboard one (crap) left me chasing my tail on slow internet speeds
Grateful that my Essence STX II is working as expected

Would prefer to install LTSC or IoT version, but not guaranteed success for gaming. Wish there was a retail/pro version without all the fluff, as 'professional' would normally imply, but hasn't been that way since Win7.
