They appear to be functioning correctly during the loading page with the white dotted spiral but as soon as it finishes loading the back lighting on both devices turn off and they become unresponsive.

IT will be an RC from memory. I'll do some hunting for a link.

It seems MS has learned some lessons from previous marketing mistakes. No obscure "beta" anymore, but a "Customer Preview", how nice :D

I miss the good old days when you could have a wallpaper in ever folders background.

I have been thinking of downgrading from window7 back to windows XP.

Windows XP you don't have to wait 5-10 seconds for your inactive HDD's to spin up when entering your drive.

You can set your hdds in windows 7 to not go inactive or make it a longer time before the hdds go into an inactive state.

Do you know where I can find this setting. Google isn't helping me.

Edit: found it and changed it from 20 minutes to 2 hours. It sux when games crash because the hdd spins down.

I am in the process of downgrading a Vista SP2 machine to XP now. We've come a long, long way! :tired:

Actually the whole "tiled" game library could work out really well. Any, I don't see it being much different, otherwise.

I'm rather pumped for the Consumer Preview. Don't think I'll be dual-booting it (not enough room on the SSD, lol), but I'll give it a good shot in a VM.

Tiles aren't ideal for desktops though, and it will be especially bad if you can't replicate the list view
