Grab an Intel NIC, quite a few going on the forums. Make sure it's a PCI Express one and you'll have no problem, they are amazing.

That could be the cable. If it's cat5e, try using some CAT6.

Turn off Auto negotiate, set speed of the NIC to 1Gb

Deploying this at work. The interface is just awful, I know it's been said a trillion times but wtf :wired: The whole layout is illogical.

*Illogical on anything that isn't a tablet or has tablet functionality.

I must say, my brother bought a lenovo yoga 2 pro, and windows 8.1 makes so much sense on *it*.

Not so much my macbook when I used it on that.

I've got a T440s coming soon for me so should be interesting

Works great on my Macbook. Windows 8.1 looks gorgeous on a retina display.

How reliable is Windows 8.1? Will it have problems playing BF4? SC2? I don't want to upgrade but I think I'm going to have to become familiar with it.

Perfectly fine... Can't speak for BF4, but I've had no problems with any games I've thrown at it (Including going as far back as Assassin's Creed 2).

Interesting, I'll try it on my brothers QHD+ laptop and see if it fixes anything (13.3" 3200x1800 lol). Generally text is hellishly clear but he sometimes gets that.

There were some people in the PC BF4 thread that saw FPS improvements when moving to Windows 8.1 Something to ponder!

    Funny that.

8.1 being significantly faster than 7 in almost all areas...

There was even a noted difference between 8 and 8.1

As an 8.1 user, I can't think of a single reason to go back to 7

If people could just get over their fear and distaste for the Metro screen, a tool that is 100% avoidable in day to day use with Windows 8.1 then people would actually be able to stop and see that it is the superior operating system.

MS flubbed the interface, but the back end is 100x better than Windows 7.
