    hi internet

i have a new very part time job which is more of a hobby than a job, involves a bit of travel and some interesting (to some people) work

because this is so interesting to a very small number of people i have gone and bought a point and shoot digital camera, a domain and some hosting so that i can set up a wordpress blog and share this with the sad people who have no life who might be interested. every few days i just want a simple way to upload a few photos with some short or long text to go with it.

i am a pretty simple guy so i dont really want or need a complicated setup. i have a couple of examples of similar sites that i can send you to show you where i am coming from. i just have no idea how to get pre made themes to look and work the way i imagine them in my head.

if anyone is interested in setting this sort of thing up i am happy to negotiate a fee but please bear in mind it won't be too much as i have left a full time job to do this and it pays about 20% of what my old job did! (translation, i am happy to pay but i am poor).

    please pm me if keen

Most themes will allow you to make changes to most of the site. It all comes down to the theme you choose, then the plug ins there after.

Do a search for things you are wanting to make look good. eg; photo gallery, picture gallery etc.

    and themes

Else if you want to give your hand a try at using a theme that allows you to customize alot more than many others.. Drag and Drop by headway works great.

It takes a little getting used to but alot of fun.. I have to update my site as I sort of started, then havent had the time to clean it up.

You might be better off with a photography theme, it will focus more around imagery then text as the main content.

Have a look through those, google is your best friend for finding free themes though.

Just download/install, throw some photos in it and look at the layout. If you don't like it, try another one. I wouldn't worry too much about customising it, just find one that suits what you're after, there's plenty of them out there.

If you need anymore help feel free to PM me, I setup a fair few wordpress installs and tinker with them.

Check out artisteer! well worth the money you pay for it. I made the base of my school website in 10 minutes then exported it right in. AND it looks good.

If you find a theme on here:

    http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress

You just go to the wordpress settings and upload theme. You can do basic customisations with colours from the WYSIWYG editor on most of the premium ones.
