My Misus has been onto me for a while to get a couple of chooks for the back yard, she thinks the young bloke would enjoy having them. TBH I've never owned anything other than a cat so I don't have much idea. A couple of weeks ago friends of ours offered us a couple of chicks, so it made the decision relatively easy.

My criteria for the coop was for it to be Mobile, reasonably small (only needs to house 2 chickens), Roost at one end, decent area for them to walk around. With all that in mind an image of a truck come to mind & what better truck than a G1 Prime? And I'm sure the young bloke will appreciate it :p

    ToDo:
    • Bitumen epoxy coat the base of the cage frame to isolate from the grass.
    • latch on the tailgate.
    • Install a few perches etc.
    • Autobot side logo

Hopefully you're incorporating a chicken escape devise for ejection before the autobot transforms <_<

In all seriousness, it looks amazing :thumbup:

Nice work. We need some after photos when the chooks have been crapping in it for a few months. A lot of Chook cages suffer cause they are hard to clean

Fantastic work, I'm sure your boy loves it. You may want to consider making the roost/cab easier to clean - perhaps some waterproofing and drainage holes so you can hose it out.

My wife was nagging for chooks for months after returning from O/S where my boy was looking after chickens. I think I'll have to keep her of the internet for a while to make sure she doesn't see your work!

Very nice work. Having it portable means you won't have dead lawn under it all the time too.

Oh and grats on being Hackadayed

I'm guessing it's not pretty with squashed chicken parts sprawled between it's mechanoid parts

How much clearance is there from the bottom of the cage to the ground? It doesn't look like very much, or does Optimus Coop jack up the trailer/cage end when you move him?
Just wondering how easy he is to move, over terrain.. ?
