Its the same if you had flying as well.. Just you would fly straight to the area instead of running?

Its not that you get different content.. Its just more convenient. No flying is fine, people are just finding problems to whinge about (hint, flying is towards the bottom of whats wrong with the game atm)

Except Flying isn't the reason they are bleeding subs.

Its because there is literally nothing to fucking do. If you don't raid - you burnt through 6.2's content in < 2 weeks. If you didn't raid for 6.0/HM/BRF - you were done in < 5 weeks.

Flying/No flying is completely irrelevant given that for most of this expansion there was ZERO reason to leave your garrison.

Agreed ..... I said early days that garrison have killed WoW. Most ppl poo-pooed that. The social interaction is gone! I'm 50, was until recently in a guild of 20 & 30 something's ........ no guild chat, no dungeon runs ...... just turn up raid night and that's all.

You don't need guildies to cut your gems or to make you an enchant or to help you do content, it's a soulless and solo game now. The daily content got old fast, it's all about raiding and if you don't raid don't waste your time.

The only good thing is that in just over a month I'm subed until past Christmas on WoW tokens without grinding mats ...... just stuff I made in the garrison. So at least I don't pay anymore.

Also doing instances meant something. Now it's just churning through them to easily attain your gear. It's all very casual. I played WoD for about 3-4 weeks after which I simply stopped because there's nothing to do and PvP is broken and pointless.

Nah there are a lot of things wrong with this xpac. There were also a lot of things right, but even the good changes couldn't keep people engaged. I might resub just to explore for a bit and farm Invincible. I might also try for flying but I'll see how annoying it is to get.

For me flying was one of the cool things about the game. I loved how you could fly around Azeroth in Cataclysm, and Dalaran was awesome with people flying everywhere. Garrisons were a good idea, but they have killed the social aspect. I wonder what the class halls will be like. Could be good if they pull it off.

The thing that really puts me off with things like the infernal invasion is that they always spawn in the same spot and there is always the same number. The mob locations just don't make it believable that there is a legion of demons invading.

I haven't played WoW since Patch 1.04, I'm assuming that was before BC I think.

In my super-lacking experience, having to hike about places is good, sounds like WoW is plagued by chronic consumerism/convenience these days, so they constantly have to go bigger and more ridiculous and such to keep people happy.?

My wife wants to dip into playing wow again, we both quit about 5 years ago and only have accounts with up to cataclysm, what is the process for updating to the latest expansion pack?

Do we have to buy them all, if so where the heck do you do that? I can't seem to find any vendors selling anything except the vanilla game, latest expansion and rarely the old battlechest.

If you can just get the latest expansion, do you miss any opportunity to check out that content?

I wish I could have skipped the last 5 years of WoW.

Less than a month till Blizzcon, but they haven't really got that many panels for WoW this year.

I'm really hoping they unveil a fair few more artifacts, as that system has me pretty hyped and which one I like will make the decision as to who I level first.

Demonhunters bore me, but could be fun.

    Eh.

Panda's was good - 5.4 was just too long. WoD is goddamned awful.

I enjoyed MoP. WoD is boring as buggery, worst expansion yet imo (I prefer Cata).

Looks like zero fucks given about WoW right now. I can see why (focusing on new franchises/games to diversify) but right now I don't see any point in subbing to WoW for the next 10 months or so given I've already exhausted what content is available. Hell, I'm even a casual player now. Sucks to be a hardcore player right now.

I can see why they are no longer going to be reporting sub numbers, lol.

As someone who bought WoD because of how amazing it all sounded and was quite disappointed in the whole thing (and dropped my sub not that long after release), Legion would need to be damn amazing to get me interested, especially when they are asking me to fork out another $70 + Sub in order to play. I was really surprised with how long away it is though TBH, from what I have read, WoD is more than stale at this point for alot of people, I can't imagine how many people are going to leave (if only for a the short term) between now and next September (or there abouts), has anything at all been announced for the interim? WoD is more or less finished now isn't it?

WoD is done, there's a new PvP season inc and a minor patch but I think that's about it.

I dropped my sub a while back, I just came back to play casual thanks to the WoW token - even playing very casually I make the cost of a token each month so I've been running a gold-pay sub since the tokens came in. I don't even think I'll bother with that anymore.

    Well fuck. They broke DK's.

This is fucking dumb. I don't hate the fury changes - Fury was fucked because the player had no control.

But DK's *always* had control... DK's just had a much more punishing "don't spend all your fucking shit right now" compared to other classes, but you were in control of that. You know *exactly* when a rune is coming - its on a fucking timer for christs sakes and you have like 3 different ways to get some in a crisis.

Its not similar to Fury in *any* way - Because you can't guarantee a crit - and everything about Fury is locked behind being able to crit. No crit, no fun.

I agree completely that in a post-prune world, how DK's somehow still had 5 resources to manage (4 if you run RC) was surprising - but to remove rune types is just dumb. And it won't solve the damned problem either - n00bs will still spend their shit way too fast, unnecessarily and they will still be rune starved and then will still die/do shit dps.

This video sums up their vision for DK's now i think

I don't mind saying I'm nothing but disappointed by wow these days. It seems like blizzard really has stopped trying. New xpac not due out till September 2016? Surely that's a joke?! If legion is anything like wod I'll struggle to stay subbed for more than a month as the game feels like a chore.

Is looking more and more like it's time to retire wow. Blizzard seems to have run out of new ideas and are in no rush to keep current players happy with regular content being added. Sad as I used to love playing WoW
