you could buy an xbox & build that computer for a lot less. But if i was some crazy rich dude who had endless money and was bored one day, id probably go out and buy it.

Otherwise id try and build something similar.

The parts are worth half that apparently according to some of the comments on link site, thats pretty good margins. I'm guessing their demographic is - for all those with more money than brains.

This tweaking process is known as overclocking and is often performed by geeks"

I'd be willing to bet big that this wont end well lol. I think FITS from tpu has a faster rig anyway.

thats suprisinly pissweak for the money.

    12gb only

    4 ssd raid 0

seriously, spending that kinda cash would automatically go FusionIO or 8 ssd on an areca or somthing.

if you needed raw cpu, then its OK, but again, you could build a quad socket amd for less that will beat it out

Its more like overclocking is known as tweaking by "Insert rude remark here".

Seems a bit low in the spec's for an ultimate build ?

only 12GB RAM with that price tag.. and the SSD feels rather smallish for such an expensive build, btw isn't there some Tyan motherboards with 4 CPU Socets avalible.. that and a soundcard would perhaps be a good idea in an ultimate build.

4x AMD 12-core CPU's if any motherboard for such is avalible with SLI, would be more ultimate.

Another ultimate option, would be to have all of the storage drives in SSD, like 6x2TB worth of SSD space.. this would probably add a bit ontop of that price tag.. but this is supposed to be a build where you do it just because you can.

    With say 4x12-core CPU's (48 cores), 4 GPU's and 12TB SSD space and say 128GB RAM...
perhaps you could also change to the workstation video cards like say "PNY Quadro 6000 6GB PCIe x16" to get maximum performance in software like 3DSMAX etc.

Now I have no idea of price but it would be alot more ultimate :D
