Hey all, needing to replace my rig shortly and thinking a build around a 2700X and X470 will best suit. I'm not going to be trying to eek out every last clock but just a decent stable daily clock with not too much juice.

Question is, for the money, is there anything better out there than an X470 Taichi? It's pretty feature rich and I've always heard glowing reports about previous Taichi boards.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

    Gus.

Was thinking of picking this up myself to replace my x370 asus prime that has been nothing but a nightmare...

Nice looking board, with all the features you would want.

Gaming K4 has nearly all the same features for considerably less money but I like the extra power handling of the Taichi for a long term prospect. That's worth the extra in my mind.

Im after something that is going to handle ram a bit better. My x370 prime has been a nightmare, been trying to get it consistent for a year now.

From what I've been reading x470 and Ryzen 2### have much better ram compatibility than x370 and Ryzen series 1, so whatever you go with should be better on that front.
I'm tossing up whether it's worth splurging on some 3200C14 RAM as that looks to be giving better improvements than core clocks with Ryzen.

Yeah watched alot of videos on that. Spending money on good ram yields really good returns. I dont really want to trade in my RAM though, Motherboard is a much cheaper "upgrade"

Yeah you only have to look on most x470 qvl and newer ryzen branded ram to see the compatability and testing is greatly improved. No more pot luck silicon lottery 2nd time around hopefully *crosses fingers*

Let us know how that goes i was gonna sidegrade to a x370 but seemed no better than 350 so x470 it is

Love it! If it was mine it would look like that once every 6 months when I got around to putting everything away! You're obviously way more OCD than me! :p

Well I've ordered the Taichi along with a 2700X and a Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 drive. Got 32GB Samsung B-die 3200C14 RAM coming from another forum member too. In the end I couldn't justify the extra money for the Crosshair for my needs. Should be a nice upgrade from my 3930K!

Is that a Flare X kit? I'm looking at a 16GB kit right now.

No, was going to get that but picked up 32GB Team Dark Pro CL14-14-14-31 for $450 which is only about 6 weeks old. The cheapest I could see the Flare X 16GB kit was $325 so I couldn't resist getting this for not much more.

Wow scored yourself a great deal. I'd be happy if I could get the 16GB kit for $275, cheapest I've seen is $335.
