    Hi,

I am after some thoughts around a Ripjaws kit I just purchased for an x99 build...

    Memory: G.Skill F4-3200C16Q-32GVKB QUAD CHANNEL: 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4-3200 [RipjawsV] Classic Black 1.35V

    Mb: Gigabyte x99 Phoenix sli

So do I try take the memory back as it is not on the qvl list unopened... Or try using it?

    Thoughts...

    Cheers,
    Ap

I've had soooo much ram over the years that has not been on the approved list, according to the mb manufacturer, that I've lost count. This is one thing that I rarely investigate.....all ram for me has worked in the past. Not saying this definitely will for you, but I'd be very certain you will be absolutely fine.

The last 4 kits I've used on this board aren't on the QVL list and work fine - I say go for it

    Thanks for the feedback...

Let's see how I go... Just have to wait for the cooler to arrive and then the build will commence...

I've never checked it... only ever had to make sure to use low voltage ram for laptops that need it.

    As an update...

    It's up and running...

All 4 sticks at 3000mhz, and it should be quad channel(I just haven't checked)...

All cool... Just waiting on the water cooler to arrive before switching over fully...

    Cheers,
    Ap

I'd ask GSkill. Or try Tradesman on Tom's - works for GSkill.

I've asked GSkill similar Qns before and got pretty quick answers.
