this is weird, i turned on my xbox got on live yet i was not prompted for any update?? wtf?
Maybe you put in some of your details incorrectly?
This is stolen from GAF, someone there made a post of the possible candidates for Games on Demand (Based on platinum titles). I'll be very impressed if we get this sort of line up over here
what do you mean? details for what?
If that pricing is correct, I'd pick up a few of those games for that. I suspect that list is a bit of wishful thinking though.
I don't see why that wouldn't be within a couple of dollars of the true price. If you go to JB you can pick up some of the Classic type titles (or the ones no one wants to buy) for under $20. I think that for a game with no media or manual and sucking down over your bandwidth is reasonable.
So when the next NXE update comes... we are going to have to reinstall games to the hard drive to see space improvements arnt we?
Will give it a go - if I get to use my xbox tonight.
Currently you can reinstall your games to see space improvements...if you are part of the preview.
Console ID i guess.
While i understand them trying to give gold members more for what they pay, but why make us pay for a service that is free for anyone to use?
With rumours that the PS3 may have similar capabilities in the future, i wonder if they will keep it free, if so, then it really will be a bonus for the PSN network.
Xbox 360's Facebook And Twitter Will Require Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions
Its like 20 cents a day to be a Gold Subscriber. Stop being a tight ass!
It's not the money, it's the ends to which MS will go to encourage people to join Live like cheap gimmicks which are free on almost all other platforms.
I already have Xbox live paid up for a couple of years of Gold so i'm not worried, nor a tight ass. Why pay for something that is generally free, the only reason is to differentiate gold with silver accounts and payment for the time they spent working on the apps.
Just like Left 4 Dead content, free on PC, on Xbox live you have to pay for a free add-on...just because Microsoft want you to
at least it has a level of monitoring users and banning them from Live....I don't think PSN has that sort of policy enforcement.
I'm pretty sure they do, but its less publicised as most people don't seem to have that many issues on the PSN compared to the console and account bannings blogged about xbox live.
probably because of this...
Yeh that's the incredibly stupid thing about it!
I let my gold account lapse to silver a few months ago. I just never have a pleasant experience playing randoms with live, and most of my gaming friends play on steam than anything else. The only thing I really used my gold account for was playing coop stuff with one mate, and next time we come across a game we want to play coop i'll probably get another gold card.
But I just shake my head at how stupid some of the features microsoft restricts on silver to try and increase the value of gold. I cant imagine anyone deciding they want to upgrade to gold just because they couldnt download a demo or access facebook.
It actually makes me want to do the opposite and hold out longer on my silver account because of how stupid that is! I tried to download Dirt 2 demo the other day and ran into temporary 'gold only' requirement... the last thing that made me feel like doing was spending money on gold or the game I wanted to try.
Lucky for me... I've got such a collection single player games that I want to play through, so dont think i'll be resubscribing anytime soon.
