This is somewhat releated to these previous annonucments: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=785239 The only update from that announcment is games on demand. Twitter, facebook and the Zune video marketplace will come later :(

As per usual Nexflix related stuff is not avaliable in Australia.

I'm still hesitant to see what happens with the content when the next console comes out. With system like Steam, you can upgrade you computer, even buy a new one and can redownload your games without much fuss.

Looks good. Curious to see the pricing of games on demand.
It'll probably still be better to get it at the local game shop though.

These little things add up to make Xbox a great console. I am 100% happy with my purchase a few months ago.

It's fun just browsing the menus.

sucks to be you lot :) I'm waiting for the netflix additions... having to get my laptop out or goto the desk to find something to watch is annoying....

also the arcade and games on demand stuff should be sweet

No I don't think anyone else had sussed out that the Avatars were similar to Miis the many moons ago that they were added.

Regardless, I don't think Nintendo can lay sole claim to the concept of creating a little avatar to represent yourself in gaming. MS do a better job with them anyway, I'd actually quite like to be able to wack some clothes on my Mii instead of looking like a bowling pin with arms and legs.

Very jealous Satan, Aus gets screwed for everything :p If the netflix prices were good I'd switch to iiNet for quota free XBL and watch quite a lot of stuff on it.

Very curious to see the price of games on demand.

Late this year we'll have Zune Video store, no netflix..while we go have quick flix here and blockbuster video on demand i doubt we'll see it on the xbox 360.

Not a complete rip, but i see what you are saying. Personally i'm not fussed, if Nintendo haven't sued them for it, then they obviously don't have a problem with it.

Anyone (looks at digital monkey) know if this next update will allow us to do away with MS points and charge directly to CC? I recall some E3 screenies of this series of updates showing products in $, not MSP.

It won't do away with points, for full version games you will have both options. For the rest of the marketplace it should stay the same.

Managed to get myself on the beta for the new update. So far not a whole lot of difference. They now have avatar awards that provide avatar upgrades from completing games but they are not enabled yet. Avatar props are cool but pricey...320MS points for the Halo RC car. The games on demand looks to be only Xbox originals, but that may change when the full update arrives. If you have any specific questions let me know and I can try to answer them.

This is awesome, if true - Xbox Live Preview Dropping Game Install Sizes

    http://kotaku.com/5328027/xbox-live-preview-dropping-game-install-sizes

Those in on the beta of the new Xbox Live Preview are reporting some significant decreases in file size of games installed directly to the hard drive.

Gamers describe conspicuous size reductions for games like Street Fighter 4, Left 4 Dead, and Bioshock with no performance decrease.
