Perhaps it is. But if it is then the tv is doing a great job of not making it look anything like 480p. I can only imagine how bad 480p on a 65 oled would look.

I took some pictures last night...Altered Carbon on Netflix.....

That doesn't look like 480p too me. Is that using the official Android app?

Yep, nothing dodgy/modded using any sort of sideload etc. Just all straight off the official store.

Yeah, no doubt, you're getting full 1080p.

    Good to know, thanks.

No the Mi box is netflix hd certified as others have indicated, has drm keys etc. No way would netflix have their logo on the products box otherwise. Mi Box is not as cheap as the uncertified devices as well, where you can get similar hardware to the mi box (4k amlogic based) for $40 or so.

Didn't end up buying a shield, did a small PC upgrade instead.
However - I have now just purchased a Mi Box MDZ-16-AB. Check around the interwebs, it is rumoured the Oreo update isn't far away?
Also, just confirming that the Mi Box does in fact handle full 4K/HDR Netflix, as well as Plex? (If Wifi range/speed is good enough?)

Does anyone have any issues with casting? For the most part it works fine for me, this is from the youtube app on my pixel 2 xl but sometimes it hangs and you get the spinning circle like it's buffering. However if I stop casting (hit the x in the notification area of the phone) I can immediately continue watching on the phone or start casting again and it will be fine. Maybe it's the youtube app on the phone but I don't have a chromecast to test.

lol, it's been talked about for ages and ages....and most recently they say it's been rolled out for those who took the time to test it. But hasn't hit the wild yet, who knows if it even will.

Is there a similar boxen that does do FTA ?

Mate needs to replace a media centre boxen with twin tuners and optical out ....

Is this for a pc monitor or something? They should come with a usb port anyways for usb tuners.

Ok I see. Sorry I haven't come across any info specifically regarding tuners plugged into these, but I'll post back if I come across anything in my travels.

Glad Oreo has arrived, my Mi Box 3 is enroute. (Hong Kong stock, so allowing a month  )

Just wanted to try and get some confirmation, Reddit isn't helping me too much. How does the Mi Box 3 hold up playing 4K/HDR content via Plex? I know Netflix 4K/HDR works well, but I'm just trying to figure out if it will run my 4K/HDR Plex videos...

the_antipop, yes your OS purchase will take a month most likely : p No problem at all with all my 4K content using plex.

Yeah I think a lot moreso for the Mi Box. Just having a quick read people are reporting the box is snappier, I always found it quick anyways, but auto refresh switching perhaps not working still....

Good to know! It's a shame my Hisense TV and PS4 Pro don't show 4K Plex content unfortunately...

Just grabbing the updates on my two Mi Box's right now....will feed back the results when I have everything installed. Just getting it over wifi so might take a little time.

Well all went pretty smoothly with the upgrade, had to pair the remotes again after the update.

Had to set resolution again, and this setting needed to be changed:

Surround Sound set to > Always

No other adjustments needed to be made that I know of other than adding app shortcuts to main screen again. USB pen drive plugged works fine although some people saying ntfs and exFAt not working. I reformatted my pen drive anyways as there was nothing on there. USB portable 1TB drive works just as before, nothing needed there.

Interface is fine, although really haven't had a chance to play much. Speed of device is fine for me, but I never really had an issue with that anyways.

Overall the upgrade went fine for me. YMMV as others over at WP are saying.
