    Hey All,

Was at perisher blue over last weekend, and they had Australian youth snowboarding championships on. I have only managed to take some photos of the Super pipe part, which was the last day of competitions. If you have friends who were competing, let me know and i'll try to find any images I took of them.

    All C&C welcomed!

Thanks for sharing xishnik. Numbers 1, 8, 9 and 10 are my faves, with 10 being superb in my eyes. Pity the left half of the athlete in number 7 blends in with the background somewhat; but a nice set of images.

    Regards

    Des

    Nice pics

Got to ask though...how the hell did you shoot against the sun and STILL manage to retain detail?

Pick 10 just blows my mind. Have no idea how you did that.

Replace the brand in #10 with snowboard brand of your choice.
Present said image to snowboard manufacturer.
    Profit.

#10 is excellent, in a whole other league from the first 9 pics. I think (other than the awesome timing) the thing that really sets it apart is that you have the total separation between boarder and background, something that is missing from the other shots.

#10 is perfect.. excellent effort.. Agree with 'present to manufacture for profit' they would take it instantly.

as for shooting into the sun and getting detail - you've gotta remember that the snowfields act as the worlds largest reflector.

    #10 is a wicked shot.

    Fantastic job!

See if you can find out who that person is, and organise something with him/her to sell the image.

(You need the persons permission, to sell the image).

you don't need their permission to sell the image.

you need their permission to use it in advertising.

Thanks all for replies! Glad so many of you like the image.

I did use Sigma 10-20 at f8 or f11 focused maybe 1m away from me to givethebest DOF result. As well as sun reflecting from the snow it self, I used two flashes at 1/4 power each. They were resting on my camera bag pointing up and a little away from each other.

I have contacted O&E to see if I can get a contact person to send photos to the kids. They put on a great show, so wouldn't want to charge them. Of cause if O&E or AUSnowboard mag want to use these, they can chat to me about it :D

I'm at TechED right now so would not be able to reply often, but askany other question you may have and I'll answer as soonas I can.

    Thanks!
