I didn't have it on the deck but I did have a quickie
Anyone used the Aldi rice cooker? The digital one with a handle.
Seemed to be $20 a couple of years ago now $49.99.
Been looking for one of these style for a while.
Haven't tried it myself but I have definitely seen second and third generation models go up in price, and quiet often the quality has gone down with subsequent generations. Their Teppanyaki plate got thinner the second time around. Their saucepans (while still relatively) good are not as thick based as the ones I bought from them 15+ years ago. The fry pans don't seem to be as strong and don't remain as flat as they once used too. Not saying their stuff is crap but it's definitely worth comparing their stuff with other stores like Kmart etc that are closer in price and quality than the really expensive brands.
Is it a pressure cooker or just a rice cooker? Because if it's the latter, I don't see how it could be any better than the $10 version from Kmart.
Yeah just get this:
If you aren't cooking rice multiple times a week then just get one of those big red 2.6L sistema microwave bowls (or the smaller 1.6L rectangle if you aren't cooking as much). 2.5 cups of water per cup of rice, microwave on high for 9 minutes, stir, microwave another 3 minutes. Done. It's not quite the same as a rice cooker but you aren't buying a unitasker that will die eventually, they are less than $5 more often than not and you can use it for storing/reheating leftovers.
Funnily enough, I just realised you can cook rice in a pressure cooker. Tried it tonight and it came out perfect.
Of course. And it will be faster than a regular cooker also.
Yeah we cook our rice in our Tefal quickcook or w/e it is.
Aldi meat/snags (trad and euro style) and assorted fancies like the Fondue de Normande I got on special for $4.99 which you simply won't find anywhere else.
Recent sale on Kewpie Mayo and assorted Japanese style seasonings/sushi accessories was awesome too.
I scored the last bottle of regular Kewpie, plus one of the Sriracha flavoured which is pretty good for some kick (plus a fresh bottle of Mirin and Sesame/Soy dressing).
(subbed for future)
Motorbike gear is back on sale this week.
Highly recommend the tail bags and the gloves.
Anyone tried the Onset Protein powder meal replacement?
On sale tomorrow so thought I might give it a try. Never used these protein powders before.
for that price, may as well get it from Bulk Nutrients or something like that.. although, could you return it if you didn't like it?
Oh it's not a good price at all? Wouldn't postage from Bulk Nutrients make them more exxy? Because I have an Aldi nearby I thought it might be a good starting point to just try it and see if it meets my needs then I could move onto to something perhaps a bit different/better later.
Bulk Nutrients/Venom Protein are my two go to's
they only really get cheap ($20/kg) if you buy 5kg at a time, or more
i generally buy 5 at a time, and sometimes comes with free delivery
for just 1kg, that's an OK price
MR CHILLED , you're an ozbargain follower yeah? Don't those protein supplements/bulk-up powders come up there fairly regularly?
Think I've heard this mentioned before (seems like there would be a good market opportunity there) but I guess it's pot-luck as to what brand gets put on a bargain.
From the last page it seems like quite a few people don't mind getting a bit of pork on their fork... belly/rib racks currently on Super Saver for 12 bucks a kilo. Belly pieces @ $17/kg.
Five bones in that piece, so I'm going to butcher it into 6 rashers. Two for a German-style dish, two for a Chinese-style marinade, and two for the freezer.
Sure, you're paying for inedible bones, but the dogs will love the scraps and it's still quite a bit of meat for not that much money.
Not sure, haven't been looking for them.
Few weeks ago there was umbrellas for sale… by any chance, does anyone have a copy of the receipt?
