A new thread every week where you can post a shot for the week.

It may be your favourite for any number of reasons, ie technically good, a favorite model, or even just because it's different to what you normally shoot.

Add the story that goes with the picture if you like but it's not necessary. It's just an excuse to post a picture that you'd like to share.

Feel free to ask for a critique if you like and comment on other shots if you wish.

I think it's either a vertical morgue or a pool cue factory

    The Gap this morning

Normally I wouldn't bother trying to shoot into the sun, so....

Nikon D7000 + 10.5mm shot in RAW and processed with Bibble. The processing is probably far from ideal so advice welcome. But please be gentle, haven't had that S/W long ;)

There's a flare centre frame that could be to do with dust on the front element? Should have cleaned it before going out - Doh!

    P.S. Double size here.

I need a wide angle lense :( Tokina 11-16 is a few mouse clicks away but I like my bank balance figure atm  Urgh expensive hobby :upset:

What lense is that exactly? I'm looking at the Tokina 11-16 on the D7000, what have you got and why did you go with it? :)

That shot above is from the Nikon 10.5mm DX f/2.8. I also considered the Tokina 11-16 but it is almost twice the weight and obviously larger, not SWM, and figured a prime would have better IQ.

Given that this is a 'fun' lens it's not that necessary I think, but being small helps it find it's way into the bag more often than not. Lucky this morning, because would never have got that cliff wall in using anything else I have ;)

There was almost no price difference between the Nikon prime and Tokina zoom at the time IIRC. The Nikon zooms in the 10/12-24mm range are twice the price.

I have to say the sun seems to fall out of the sky very quickly this time of the year.
