A new thread every week where you can post a shot for the week.

It may be your favourite for any number of reasons, ie technically good, a favorite model, or even just because it's different to what you normally shoot.

Add the story that goes with the picture if you like but it's not necessary. It's just an excuse to post a picture that you'd like to share.

Feel free to ask for a critique if you like and comment on other shots if you wish.

Last week's "Your Photo of the Week" thread is here.

Was hoping for a nice sunset today, but it was just drab and overcast. Oh well, shots still came out ok. Yes, it's my bike.

Old photos, clearin out the to-process list. Only a couple years back but already noticing I'd shoot the same stuff quite a bit differently these days.

Well, my habit of taking photos in terrible weather backfired somewhat today.
I had everything carefully prepared under the shelter of the cliffs, shot metered and focused, so that i could grab the whole setup, quickly compose and take the shot, and have it all back under cover before the water got into everything.
It all went as planned, i got the camera back under cover pretty fast without too much moisture getting on the kit, carefully reset the tripod so it was stable, and turned around to check the image.
At which point my raincoat snagged on a knob of the ball head and pulled the tripod clean over.
I was forced to watch at my camera plummeted, lens first, complete with Lee polarizer still mounted, 5 ft into the sandstone.

And so i give you the last image my trusty Nikkor 24-70 will ever take.

    RIP lens :(

I have a trusty Nikkor 28-70, the daddy of yours. It's built like a tank, and parts are still available. It might be worth looking at getting yours repaired.

Yeah that did cross my mind, but the zoom has totally locked up, so not sure of my chances. probably worth at least trying though.

I do a bit of event/venue photog at a local night club, I just like the subjects in the pic (tribute DJs called Discovery).
