I don't like laughing about this because it can be a serious problem, but having a monstrous collection with a lot of duplication can be completely independent from mental health, as long as having the collection doesn't hurt anything else

Having said that, ALL OF MY RETRO COMPUTERS SPARK JOY.

I know a lot might struggle with the fact that this is classed as retro but with the help of a few here I've built my retro 2008 rig over the past month and today i'll be lanning with:

Intel Q9550 (2.83GHz but easy OC to 3.4)
    8GB DDR2
    EVGA 780i SLI motherboard
    2x 8800GT 512MB in SLI
    1TB Samsung F1 7200RPM hard drive
    HP LP2065 1600x1200 IPS monitor

I'd have killed for this rig in 2008! However the motherboard is extremely hard to work with, I'm certainly missing the "it just works" nature of modern tech.

EVGA 780i SLI - you were asking for it :p
I've got a Q9450 system with an Asus P5Q Pro and it is a delight.

It's been a fun ride. I used to run a P5Q vanilla back in the day and it was a delight, so I'm thinking I'll rebuild using the P5Q3 I picked up and run either crossfire or single card from there.

Got this 17" flatscreen for $30 in box, the guy said it was used once, looks like a generic screen but good to get a hold of a flatscreen over the curved IBM ones I have, will go well with my 386/486/5x86 boxes.

Don't forget MiSTer can output to VGA and double scan all old system output. Consoles, computers, the lot - they all look amazing on a good quality PC CRT.

Further to Elvis's comment a gbs82x0 modded is an excellent way to get original consoles (if they do RGBS) on a VGA monitor.

I also hope that optima sourced better CRTs then they did LCDs just before their bankruptcy.

Lol isn't that the same as Wanking, no dramas as long as it doesn't hurt anything else? :D

Broken Philips CDI 210 I picked up, only needed the drive belt replaced.
This model has native RGB output so you can play all those crappy games in crisp quality.

sooooo some guy on an Atari FB group posted his SC1224 and I did my usual ebay search expecting nothing.

bam! the photos don't do it justice. So crisp, colours are perfect. Happy!

Whelp over the next few weeks I'll be packing up my crazy games room because I have to move.

Just as it was starting to look real neat too.

Ah man, that sounds like a huge task.

I'm petrified of the day I ever have to pack up mine. 6 arcade machines, 47 CRTs, god knows how many consoles and games. I think if that day ever came, I'd donate the lot to a museum.
