This is the counter to the other thread, mainly to gloat/brag about bargains, and what not. Especially in light of the GFC, and bargains you snatched before it hit.

    My top 4:
    1) Dell S2409W for $255 (currently $469...shoulda got two)
    2) Vostro 1310 (T8100, 3GB, 8400GS, 160gb, 4cell) for $950. Can't replicate, but around 1400 now. Awesome for on the run Dota.
    3) G0 Q6600 waaaAAay before anyone else got one for $300 from anyPC.com(i can check receipt if we want to have a G0 date recieved gloat...)
    4) 8800GT from the USA for AU$300 before they were in aus. (thanks grandma and grandpa, I'm still using it!)

Easily my first 19'' LCD that broke. When I returned it, got the top of the range model. Sold that and bought a 22''

    Go LG. Life was good.

Did get 2... Great buy :D

Others include an E7300 I picked up pretty much new for $125, and a Q9450 for $250 not long before cpu prices went nuts.

Also picked up a whole swag of Sammy 750gb hdd's for $100 brand new, as far as I know they've never been that cheap again.

    My Dell 30" and 20".

They weren't cheap at the time, and they are not the best in their respective categories today, but the last 3 years of computing / work / gaming have been a joy.

Although at the time they cost a fair whack, I can see them lasting me for another couple of years more. Best purchase I've ever made.

Laptop: HP DV6000 series. CoreDuo 2.0Ghz, 2Gb RAM, 160GB HD. I only wanted a low cost lappy to store my holiday images on while I was travelling in US, but 1.5yrs on it's still in use nearly everyday. Cost $US750 + taxes back then, build quality surprisingly surpasses the pricepoint.

Radeon 9800XT for $650 AUD in Hong Kong back when they were $1000 AUD in Aus (end of 2003).

Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro for $330 AUD in Hong Kong back when they were $700 AUD in Aus (end of 2003). I'm still using it now :D

Logitech Z-680 Speakers for $550 AUD ish in mid 2003. I'm still using them now, too. :)

E2140 CPU for $79 before all the prices went up (end of 2007).

This mouse I'm using now. I bought it specifically to play UT 5 or 6 years ago, now the silver paint's wearing off the "primary fire" button to reveal the white plastic underneath, the Logitech logo has long since disappeared and it's still going strong :)
