Hardware canucks are not very technical. Their case reviews are good but everything else shows they have no idea.

6700k > 9600k good enough jump to warrant the cost ? Looking for a new motherboard as mine is getting a little flaky so may as well do the CPU at the same time. Mainly used for gaming paired with a 1080ti.

Gamers Nexus’s Steve is probably one of the most technical reviewers out there. AdoredTV is also very thorough although he doesn’t specifically review hardware that much. Level 1 Techs is also very good.

    Oh and der8auer

Don't get angry at me for Intel's 115c rating

I don't think anyone should push a CPU anywhere near that temp.

I'd suggest you run no higher than 80c and that only for short periods of time.

are you insane ?? are you okay ? ? I am not running a cpu at 100c in a custom loop. I am definitely not.

I would really like to know how many people on here running custom loop are okay with running their cpu at 80c+ on a custom loop. I am definitely not.

I would also not buy a second hand cpu that was being run at such ridiculous temps. So it also decreases resale value.

Cpu will also thermal throttle once u go above 80c.

Something is definately up with this new stim. You shoundt be able to delid these with delidding tool.

Don't even like 80deg in a 1x minute benchmark. Pushing the volts up ... I prefer cold ambient temp like wintertime 15deg & under.
The solder is soft shit ... simple as that.

Nope. I view anything in this 9 series other than the 9900K as down bins. HT disabled & defective cores turned off.
Remember the 8350K could barely make 5Ghz. Rare a 8600K could make 5.3Ghz

Best purchase is still the 8700K 8086K ... they rock :)

Nope, but interestingly under stress test my 9600K at stock will throttle to 4.3GHz all cores down from 4.6GHz all cores which never happened ever when I had a 8086K in my MSI Z370I motherboard, is it just me

BTW guys I found Maximus XI Gene is listed on JD.com for 3100 cny (About 620 aud), I feel bad for those who want this board it is $100+ more than Maximus X Apex at launch.

Edit: I just found a listing for Maximus Gene: http://ijk.com.au/branch/ijk/product_info.php?products_id=161728

Just an update on this, have just picked up my 9900K from OC UK at the DHL Depot, ordered last Friday lunch time, picked up this morning. Not bad service at all!

OC results to follow later tonight / tomorrow.
