Could be the case yep, and if so then they probably could have just said that. Will be interesting to see if any others get them though.

Yeah exactly, I hope it's just me that didn't get it. You've just got to remember I have the Z5400 not 5500, so it's a different head unit.

    ... and we're back!

In May 2014, Logitech support ("Arlene V") stated they would send a replacement Z5500 pod and remote control, my emails were left unanswered from them.

Four months later, I received this email last week!

Fingers crossed something turns up. My Z5500s work, but the remote has always been stuffed and the display flickers.

I bought a Harmony 650 about 2 years ago and after a few weeks the thing would just power off and on randomly. Couldn't have happened at a worse time too, I was trying to turn the sound down when I was watching porn.
buttons may have been sticking too
Anyway, emailed Logitech, I had to send the original one back but got another one.

    Kudos Logitech

What happens if no one is home to sign for them? Is it just taken to a local post office to be collected, or does Logitech use some courier company that sends them back to the company if not signed for?

And do they arrive 5-7 days after you get that email. I just got an email like that 5 minutes ago, so now I am waiting for them to arrive, but I live alone.

My replacement parts came in a standard (red) AustPost satchel, it was left at the door - took about two weeks to turn up from their last email sent to me.

The new Z5500 control pod is better quality, buttons "click" more satisfactorily and the LCD is finally readable. Remote they sent (smaller one) seems stuffed though.

1 week to the day (today) after I got the email from Logitech support saying they were sending my replacement control pod out, I came back from work and found a red satchel outside my door with said control pod inside.

Considering how long some people seem to have waited, was pleasantly surprised.:D

Sometimes I wish I had kept my Logitech z-680's to use as a secondary set.

Pretty good set were they? I only ever had the 5500's and was extremely happy with those.....until I just decided I wanted a change and went to the Z906.

Some people think Logitech's 5.1 top end speaker solutions have gotten worse with each newer model, not better. Why do you think Logitech is replacing so many z5500 pods.

I would have thought by now they wouldn't be handing any more out. It was quite a while back now that I got my replacement.

I know this isn't a Z5500 but my G930 headset was out of warranty and I was after the mini usb connection. As it had broken all the pins (wasn't a dry joint) at the CB and I wanted to replace it, or could I sent them my headset to be fixed. They asked for a copy of my receipt and to send them the headset.

4 weeks later they sent me a refund via escrow saying it cant be fixed and it shouldn't of happened.

    THAT IS AMAZING SERVICE...full stop

I've never had that before ever...

I've got 1 dead control pod and one pod where the backlight doesn't work and the LCD screen has dead spots.
I just sent them a message via support. Don't like my chances but worth a shot.

Considering they still sell the Z5500 (amazing nothing else has been released, these must have been selling for 10+ years), try your luck, my experience is you'll get a response ... then nothing ... then three months later a package turns up at your door.

I sold my old pod too on eBay
