    Hi all,

Having a very odd problem with my Win 7 x64 build on a Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3. OC'd to 4GHz (using the bios OC feature).

It's 100% stable running on the latest drivers.

The issue is that on start up or when it wakes from sleep that it won't resolve web pages in a somewhat random fashion. For example one site might load like OCAU but Whirlpool won't. Then Whirlpool will load without graphics and OCAU will stop responding.

    Tracert/ping won't resolve either.

All other PC's are working without issue on the same network.

PC is configured for DHCP and I've tried changing a couple of config settings like disabling green ethernet to no avail. I've reinstalled the drivers too. The problem is the same across IE, Chrome and Firefox.

Internal networking seems fine with my nas resolving without a problem. I don't have a proxy, alternate DNS although I do have a Cisco VPN client installed (off when not in use) for work.

It takes about 5 minutes of persisting until addresses start resolving consistently without failing to download graphics.

Once it's working it's generally fine although I feel that website responsiveness could be better but usenet performance peaks throughout these issues regardless.

    Very weird and frustrating problem.

I think there's something actually wrong with the NIC on this board, or the drivers are clusterfucked. I had some utterly bizarre things happen with it as well. But mine was based around network sharing and not internet activity.

I had to disable IPV6 (or whatever it's called) and manually set speed duplexing to the highest setting in the connection properties to sort my issues out.

If you think its the ethernet connection on the motherboard, have you tryed a card?

It was happening before the OC.

    Done previously, no effect.

I don't have one, but I will try that as a last resort.

    Already did that ages ago.

Trying a different NIC shouldnt be last resort.....If you've obviously got a problem with the onboard one, the fastest way to find the problem is to get a different card.

I'd rather save $$$ for now but it's looking like it's the next step.

Just get a cheap one. 5-10. Wont be the best, but you only need it to test whether its just the Ethernet port or theres something wrong with the motherboard.

I bought a cheapo network card and the issue persists.

I've now used a new network cable and directly connected to the router and the problem still occurs.

At the time of posting it was the latest stable.

Not seeing any other network issues posted with this board so I've nfi if it's my Win7 build.

Might reinstall but considering the problem only lasts for about 5 - 10 mins I'm not I can be bothered.

I have had some random and intermittent issues with my onboard NIC though I never bothered posting because I wasn't exactly sure if it was ISP related.

I havnt had those particular issues but ive had some random drops browsing & BF3ing, tried disabling adapter/restarting modem and still no net. Restarted PC to have it all good again which would suggest software or hardware failure? (all the meanwhile the other PC on the network which is next to me is working fine with no drops.)

Its happened about 4 times in the fortnight ive been using it.

Wasn't happening the week or two prior when my main rig was an Asus (AMD) mobo.

I've started using google DNS servers and the problem has improved but there are still noticeable outages at times.

Having said that I'm starting to wonder if the Netgear is the problem.

Seems to have fixed the problem. Strange that none of the other PC's have a problem except mine.
