    Interesting!!!

This is no longer James, he sold the business 2 weeks ago to me :) - Robbie, his #1 customer - And yes, the figures show it. I didnt even know i was when i brought the business!

What sort of FPS you getting? Benchmark, K, GO GO GO!

My Dell 24" (Native 1920*1200) is arrving on Wednesday and i cant wait to crank the res but i dont think i can have any AA / AF on with these cards, i think it choaks... but the high res should make up for it.

I don't mind if it is better for NVidia cards, well i DO but it ain't your fault. I was a NVidia fan boy but for the price, these 4870's are pretty good. I am keen to build up a NVidia moster soon!

Free Postage on all orders that are Pre Paid for items that are on "Pre Order Only" or "Pre Order Now, Arriving Soon" status - and i am not even advertising that... except for just then

Still getting my stuff organised for the OCAU sponsorship to kick in but i am looking after OCAU members already anyway ofcourse!

Someone find me a benchmarking tool that works on crysis! haha

I'll take some ingame shots with fraps going in background thats about all i can do :(

But I have done the built in benchmark, but it comes up with error after it's done 4 loops, saying " cant find specific file " and it wont post my results.

Mmm, sounds like you might need to reinstall the game if it's having errors on the built in benchmark. Once you reinstall it (if you do) fire up the game before you do any benching as there are some config files that are created the first time you run the game :)

Borrowed an X38-DQ6 today from Aussie (champion )

    Plans...
    * Will be re-running all previous tests on XP 32-bit.
    * Comparing PCI-E 1.1 to PCI-E 2.0 for a single card.
    * Running all tests again on the 16x/16x bandwidth board.

Anyone got any specific tests they'd like to see run? :)

Does UT3 have a built in benchmark tool, or is it done through timedemos?

Farcry 2 will have to wait a few months :p

    Anything else? ^_^

    use that for consistancy
ir just record a demo and use
    demoplay demoname.demo?timedemo

that will fast run the demo and at the end bring down the console for a score

using my visous 30 goglike bot demo on containment and 4x aa everything maxed at 1680 1050 i got 49 fps

    also source based games
lost coast 1680 1050 everything in game maxed 6x aa etc
    129 fps
tf2 in game just running around but 8 x aa i get 245 fps indoors and 150fps outdoors

Pretty good FPS for TF2 :). Why only 6x AA on lost coast though? What type od AA were you running (6xCSAA, 6x Normal AA, MSAA or Super sampling AA via means of control panel).

i will try and see what differences there are if any throwing edge etc(but i doibt there will be noticable iq change)
aaptie msampling set to sharp as well.

Cheers for that Tarot. Do you know whether it works with the beta/demo or you need the full version?

I have lost coast so i can give that a kick in the guts.

Quagnol, i paid $330ea from ITestate

Hey, I'm interested in some Crysis runs at 1024x768, if you can fit them in.

another one to use(not sure if it works on the demo though)

as for that hoc bench no i think you need the retail.
but if you have the demo only just run through shangri la with piles of bots and stat fps and just a general idea will do.

i,ll run a crysis bench with the demo for my setup if you like

    here you go
catalyst settings are all mxed except AA which is application and adaptive AA was off
    670/1050 crossfire
    Q6600 @ 3.3 gig
4 gig of ram xp pro sp3 dirty install with other things open loke outlook :)

:wired: dumping these here coz i cbf typing it up tonight! But some numbers for now...

    PCI-E 1.1 does NOT bottleneck a HD4870 GDDR5 GPU :)

    3Dmark for now... games coming...

Definitely no bottleneck on PCI-E 1.1 :leet:

Pretty poor results at the moment going from 1 card to 2 cards, even on the X38 chipset. Less than 5fps gained at High with no AA. The CF setup comes into it's own when 8xAA is introduced saving an extra 8fps.

Will be doing some Very High runs tomorrow...

    For now... sleeeeeeeeeep
