Crysis 2 has been sitting on my shelf since release.

Why? My card was only a HD4870. So now I have a GTX570 and was wondering why it's still on my shelf. Then I realised I was waiting for the DX11 patch! The improved screenshots look good

Looks good, now if only I could download it! Waited for months to play this game in crossfinity (crap driver support) but may just play it on single screen DX11 instead.

It stopped there because of consoles, development changed to DX9-level hardware. DX10 and DX11 are very powerful APIs, but are wasted.

I have not played this game even though I bought it on release date. I promised my self i will not play C2 in dx9 after all those memorys of crysis and how good the graphics were. It seems the patch launch is not far now.

Pardon me for this simple question but is this v 1.9 patch all inclusive patch that includes all previous patches, or do I have to install the retail version and start installing one after another patch in sequence all the way up to v 1.9 to get the game now updated ? Thanks in advance.

Looks like the 1.9 patch is downloading through my steam 367mb,so is the 1.9 patch the dx11 part and do I still need to get the high res texture packs I don't think the texture pack is part of the 1.9 patch is it.

Got patch 1.9 patched on steam and the ultra pack installed. Texture pack was downloading but alas I had to go to work.

You can get the packs off NVIDIA here. You'll need to download the two packs regardless. If you have it on steam you wont need to download the patch.

is it just me or does disabling motion blur make the game look like it's running at a semi-low fps when the fps is high? strange though.

    Nice! lol.

    Ultra + DX11 +Hi Res textures pulled my frames down into the 20s -30s on my spare Q6600 @ 3.7 + 6950 @ 1080p.

Will try rig in sig now :D

    Looks pretty good however.

    EDIT:

Rig in Sig: Ulta, Hi Res textures, 1080, DX11 =

    Brief test.
Lowest I saw during combat 35FPS, 40's When overlooking streets from buildings and 50 + during non-intensive.

just so you know my pc is still able to play this game with 60fps with no issue, with everything maxed out to the fullest, locked with v sync. the optimisation is great all 3 gpu's are being utilised close to 100%.
